After graduating from Murdoch University Veterinary School with honours in 2007, Kirsten worked in general equine practice for just over 2 years before starting ‘Dental Vet’ in 2010. In 2012 she completed her Membership examinations at the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Dentistry and in 2021 was awarded her PhD at the University of Western Australia for her research into equine peripheral dental caries. 

She has published widely in the leading international veterinary journals and has lectured at numerous conference and workshops internationally and nationally. In 2017 Dental Vet opened WA’s first and only equine veterinary dental clinic, allowing the facilitation of more advanced dental procedures such as endodontics (‘root canals’) and restorations (‘fillings’). She enjoys teaching, continuing the research while running Dental Vet, as well as her charity work through Animal Aid Abroad and enjoying time with her young family.
